The Advanced Placement (AP) program is a cooperative educational endeavor between secondary schools and colleges and universities. It allows high school students to undertake college-level academic learning in AP courses and receive credit from placement in thousands of colleges and universities nationwide.

In 2013, Cape High administered 420 AP tests, the most of any high school in the West Zone. Cape High students achieved a 49% pass rate on those AP exams, which was the high­est pass rate of all the high schools in the West Zone. 

AP Scholars

In 2013, 22 students at Cape Coral High School earned AP Scholar awards in recognition of their exceptional achievement on AP exams. This includes 3 students who earned the highest award, the AP Scholar with Distinction.
